Projection Picking System(PPS)

Maximize picking and sorting efficiency with image projection and poka-yoke functionality.
What is Projection Picking System(PPS) ?

PPS® projects images, text, numbers, QR codes, and more onto various shapes of shelves, racks, floors, and walls, providing easily understandable work instructions to operators. Additionally, it can be customized to fit the specific environment of the site and includes poka-yoke functionality. Widely used across various industries such as food, apparel, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing, it enhances efficiency and accuracy in logistics warehouses when combined with transport robots and automated storage systems, contributing to labor-saving efforts.
PPS stands for Projection Picking System.
Projection Picking System and PPS are registered trademarks of AIOI-SYSTEMS CO., LTD.

Key Features of PPS®
-
01
Fool-proof features can be integrated to suit the on-site environment.
By combining image processing and sensor technologies, fool-proof features can be implemented to accommodate various shelf and rack shapes.
-
02
Easy configuration with dedicated layout tools.
With dedicated tools, up to 99 layout patterns can be registered and switched through the system based on the items stored in each compartment.
-
03
No electrical work required
No electrical work is required, and the simple equipment configuration makes installation and modifications easy. It is also ideal for small shelves where installing dedicated equipment or wiring is challenging.
-
04
Flexible projections guide work procedures step by step.
The projector can display work instructions tailored to the on-site environment, significantly contributing to improved operational efficiency and quality.
-
05
AIOI projectors designed to maximize the efficiency of PPS®.
Ideal for logistics sites, it supports wide-area projections, such as "two AGV racks" or "two medium-duty shelves," along with fool-proof measures, maximizing the efficiency of picking and sorting operations.
Six Benefits of Implementation
-
01
Reducing errors while achieving accuracy and efficiency.
Fool-proof features can be customized to suit the on-site environment, minimizing errors caused by incorrect placements or procedures. Additionally, eliminating the need to work while referring to paper slips or lists reduces mistakes such as "misreadings" or "wrong picks," thereby improving both operational efficiency and accuracy.
-
02
Supporting workers with visual navigation.
By using a projector to directly display images, text, numbers, or QR codes onto shelves, racks, floors, or walls, it provides visual navigation for workers. Workers can follow the projected guides to carry out tasks, making it easier to identify precise locations and procedures. As a result, tasks are simplified, work speed improves, and the visual information enhances worker comprehension.
-
03
A work support system designed with flexibility in mind.
The software allows for easy modification of the number and size of picking or sorting openings, enhancing flexibility. Additionally, the versatile projection capabilities enable the display of various types of information, such as work instructions, notices, and alerts. Since no wiring is required at the openings, it can be utilized flexibly. Integration with logistics-related equipment and external devices is also possible, further expanding operational possibilities.
-
04
Ensuring consistency in work quality through standardized operations.
Compared to list-based operations, visualizing tasks allows for simplification and standardization, helping to reduce variations in work quality. Additionally, it shortens training time and broadens the scope for securing talent, preventing reliance on specific individuals and enabling the establishment of a system that is not dependent on personnel.
-
05
Paperless operations and reduced environmental impact.
PPS® projects picking lists and work instruction information, reducing the need for paper. This achieves paperless operations, contributing to a reduction in environmental impact.
-
06
Paperless operations and reduced environmental impact.
By utilizing PPS®, tasks can be digitized, and the picking process can be quantified. This enables the optimization and efficiency improvement of work processes, promoting digital transformation (DX).
Packaged software is available to support migration and operation during the initial implementation phase.
By combining easy-to-implement packaged software with the WMS software "AINECT," it becomes possible to systematize warehouse management, including picking systems, inventory management, as well as inbound and outbound management.
AIOI projector (PP0207)

Utilizing the AIOI projector (PP0207) enables optimal wide-area projection for logistics sites, such as "two AGV-specific racks" or "two medium-duty racks," while also incorporating poka-yoke measures to maximize the efficiency of picking and sorting tasks. Projection of work instructions is even possible in areas that were previously challenging, such as the lowest shelves.

Projection Picking System(PPS) FAQs
-
By using separate physical controllers for Projection Picking System(PPS) and DPS, they can be linked together.
-
There is a dedicated layout setting tool that allows you to set it up in the same way as using PowerPoint.
-
This function notifies you if you have picked up the wrong product or part. Picking up the wrong product or part can lead to wrong shipment, so this helps prevent wrong shipment.
-
With the AIOI projector (PP0207), it is possible to project a maximum of 170 inches (3600mm x 2300mm), the equivalent of two AGV-dedicated Rack or two medium-weight Rack. *Our recommended value is 150 inches.
-
The lineup is divided into types: 2D sensing, 3D sensing, and image sensing.
There are two main types of projector illumination methods.
(1) Ultra-short-focus projector that does not cast shadows on activity even when projecting light at close range
(2) Type that illuminates the floor from the ceilingIrradiation target
(1) Small parts drawers in factories and Rack in pharmacies
(2) flow rack at distribution centers
(3) activity instructions and part picking at the factory cell stall
(4) Parts reel Rack in a PCB mounting factory
(5) G2P (Goods to Person) product Rack for Automatic guided vehicle (AGV)
